Why Super Roots?
“Trees with strong roots laugh at storms”
The best Adventure Playgrounds are wild spaces tucked in amongst towns & cities, where both nature and children are given freedom outside of the neat, tidy and “safe” other versions of their lives. Nettles, climbing, weeds, fires, brambles are encouraged for the benefits they bring. and children’s innate spirit of adventure to create positive and wild memories through all weather, building resilience and our physical & mental health.
The huge decrease in children, young people and families spending time in wild nature also includes less using tools, around an outdoor fire is a lifelong resource to return to for our physical, social & mental health. If we do these things as children, it can be a lifelong resource to return to.

Adventure
We advocate for more adventure in the lives of children and young people. To experiment with their ideas, be rich in imagination, experience building + cooking on a fire, use tools, and climb trees. All these activities develop their natural resilience, autonomy, and empathy #NaturalHealthService
Forest School
Nurturing curiosity about the natural world through science, folk histories, and practical uses is an amazing way to foster immersive learning across the curriculum. Forest School education is multi-sensory: whether exploring mini worlds or the power of diversity in Nature, the Learn By Doing approach sows the seeds of exploring, observing, sharing, and discovering.
Play
Adventure Playwork encourages wild spaces where children/ young people are given responsibility to be the Architects of their own Futures. Being playful is not just about giggles, but also connection, ceremony, inventing, being brave and much more.
Community
Super Roots mission is to be inclusive, affordable and accessible, creating a collaborative space where everyone is learning and listened to. We encourage connections within and beyond the groups, towards a ripple effect of children and families building supportive communities.
Positive Futures
Building children’s enjoyment of the natural world is crucial to counterbalancing the “extinction of experience”. Using recycled & natural materials, collaborating with other organisations and our communities, we want to help build positive futures for our children and planet.
